ABOUT Nola Nyxettes


The NOLA Nyxettes were founded in 2012 by Julie Lea and made their debut in 2014 at the Krewe of Nyx Ball on February 1, 2014 and their Carnival debut with the Krewes of Nyx, Iris, Thoth, and Zulu. They have been seen on local networks such as WWL, WDSU, and Fox 8, interviewed by Fox 8 News and were recognized in Arthur Hardy's Mardi Gras Guide and by Mr. Hardy himself on Mardi Gras Day.  They have also been featured in Where Y'at Magazine and mentioned by Gambit, the Times Picayune, the NOLA Defender, Broadway World and Wordpress Blogger, L.A. to NOLA.

Heading into their sixth year, the NOLA Nyxettes have been invited to dance in additional parades by various Krewes in the New Orleans area including Krewes of Freret, King Arthur, Krewe of BOO!, Pandora, Sparta, Southern Decadence, and the Krewe of Krewes as well as krewes from Mississippi and Alabama.  They also performed at the Thoth ball last year, and have performed for the New Orleans Pelicans Primetime Series three years in a row.  To add to the excitement, the Nyxettes will debut their first half time performance at the Harlem Globetrotters game on December 1, 2018 at the Smoothis King Center in New Orleans.

The NOLA Nyxettes believe strongly in giving back to the city they love and continue to enrich the City of New Orleans not only through entertainment, but service and sisterhood.  The NOLA Nyxettes boast of their unique diversity as their members span across all talents from ballet, tap, and jazz to hip hop, salsa, gymnastics, and cheerleading.  Their professional diversity also spans across all occupations from engineers, scientists, and attorneys to teachers, journalists, and broadcast television editors.  The NOLA Nyxettes is a team that meets at a perfect intersection of talent and intellect.
